Solitaire Feb/Mar 2004By Invitation only

Solitaire went sailing last December, as part of the annual Phuket Invitational Mega-Yacht event. Organized by Seal Superyachts in Phuket, this yearend insider weekend brings together Superyachts and owners cruising the Andaman Sea at this time of year. The event saw three mega sailing yachts racing against each other in Phuket's Nai Harn Bay, followed by an owner's cocktail party on board the 1931 classic motor yacht "Maid Marion".

The three sailing yachts were the 177ft "Yanneke Too", built in 1995 by Camper & Nicholson; the 50m "Perseus", built in 2001 by Perini Navi; and the sleek "Sylvia", a 143ft classic Camper & Nicholson built in 1928. The day was concluded by a lavish dinner at the Le Meridien Phuket Yacht Club, attended by the who's who of the regional yachting scene.
